Odour Monitoring Surveys
- Enviroscan was the first laboratory in South Australia to gain NATA accreditation for odour testing to AS 4323.3-2001.
- Odour sampling methods include fluxhood, fugitive and point source sampling.
- Ambient odour is determined in the field by an operator screened for n-butanol sensitivity using a Nasal Ranger instrument. Results are plotted on suitable basemaps with wind speed and direction to map the odour plume downwind from the source area. This form of “ground truthing” is used to provide an independent assessment of CALPUFF dispersion modelling.
